On Saturday, November 16th, Carnoustie Panmure FC inducted the first entrants into the club’s Hall of Fame at their Celebration Dinner.

Our Chairman, David J Laing, was taken by surprise as he was inducted to the Hall of Fame.  Having been an avid supporter and committee member with a 27 year association with the club, Dave retired as Carnoustie Panmure’s Chairman in 2016.

David Laing said: “I am honoured to enter the Hall of Fame as I am delighted to have been involved with this great little football club.  I have met many great people and had many great times over the years.  Although the defeats weren’t always so good!

My most memorable games were the Scottish Junior Cup finals and the win against Tayport in 2004.  That was a tremendous achievement by the club which earned it’s place in history.  It was a great day and a great result enjoyed by many.”

The Scottish Junior Cup Winning Squad of 2004 was also inducted on the night by MC Jim Spence.  Former Gowfer’s goalkeeper, Rab Geddes accepted the award on behalf of the players and reminisced about the games and great team spirit among the players at the time.

The third inductee was former Captain Steven Cook who retired from football last season after 11 years with the club, which is a great achievement in this day and age.

DJ Laing recently signed a 2 year sponsorship deal for Carnoustie Panmure’s home kit, which marks a 30 year partnership with the club.
