"Minimise landfill, maximise recycling"
DJ LAING's skip hire service went on the road with one heavy goods vehicle in 1990.
The fast growing waste management division has a fleet of heavy goods vehicles and over 600 skips and containers on daily waste collection services, from commercial, domestic and industrial contracts throughout Angus, Tayside and Fife transporting waste to Petterden Transfer Station / Recycling Centre.
The purpose
of Petterden Recycling Centre is to import all commercial, industrial and
domestic waste and separate the material into various categories for further
processing and produce a recyclable product.
The non-recyclable materials are ultimately deposited at the Company's Landfill Site.
In recent years the introduction of Landfill Tax and European directives, minimise landfill maximise recycling, has created a major directional change in the waste management business.
Through extensive research into recycling, DJ LAING's capital investment in specialised recycling Plant and Equipment installed at Petterden Transfer station demonstrates the Company's commitment to recycling.
